Iran Chemical, Bio Weapons Threat Is Real

It is already a forgone conclusion that Iran has chemical weapons, but the question is; have they used them on another country? Isn't the protocol of National Defense a barrage of Nuclear weapons if any country uses a WMD against the US? Is there definitive proof that the Iranian government is just that stupid? And if so, why were all those tax payer dollars spent on a vast nuclear arsenal, if we are to tremble at the thought of Iran having some mustard gas?
Note that Iran said it would retaliate if attacked, not launch a pre-emptive strike that would cause more fallout than Chernobyl, like the US has threatened. It is a nations right to defend itself and retaliate if it chooses not to roll over and play dead.
But I guess I am just missing the point, I should be outraged that Iran has chemical weapons, is not rolling over and playing dead, and threatens to retaliate if we nuke the daylights out of their nuclear reactors. Brinksmanship is bad, unless we're doing all the saber rattling!
