[info]chron_job, I had you in mind when I viewed this video.

Checkmate, Atheists!
http://www.shoutfile.com/v/6Ru0fdxV/Checkmate_Atheists

I hope this video is a spoof, because this guys argument is so full of holes that you would think it was shot by 30mm mini-gun.

I don't have a problem with anyone who wants to practice organized religion, but I have a serious problem with people trying to pass theology off as fact. I could have sworn that "faith" was a tenet in Christianity, but perhaps that is double-speak for closed mindedness.

"Believe in God at all costs, evidence and logical reasoning be damned, full speed ahead!"

In my opinion, it is perfectly acceptable to have faith and yet use ones reasoning abilities to observe reality. But most slam the door shut on this and instead insist that the world is 5,000 years old, that the Earth is flat and rests on gigantic pillars, that dinosaurs and mankind mingled freely in the Garden of Eden, and that the Bible is the final word on all matters. This in turn makes Christianity in particular a very tough pill to swallow for people who see that there are many fallacies in those ideas. Any of you wearing clothes not made of a single fiber today? If so, you're beaking a rule in the Old Testament.

That isn't saying that the whole book is wrong, I find myself rather fond of that Jesus fellow and his teachings. It's the "fun-duh-mentalism" that causes my brain to scream "Danger:Bullshit Ahead!"

Good video!

I wouldn't say it was a "spoof"... I'd just say it was just ironic. Maybe even a little bit of a "stealth" argument.

He's not so much a "spoof" of a Christian (except for the Banana thing, that's spoofing Kirk Cameron from this talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zwbhAXe5yk ) as he is producing typical Christian arguments in ways that the listener is lead to easily refute on their own.
